Eating disorders are abnormal eating habits and beliefs that harm a person’s physical or mental health. There exist a wide range of eating disorders, including the following:

 

  • Binge eating disorder: eating very large amounts of food in short periods of time;
  • Anoxeria: eating very little and therefore having a dangerously low body weight;
  • Bulimia: binging followed by purging;
  • Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder: having no interest in eating food, or most foods.
