Treatment programs can be designed to treat drug and alcohol addiction in general or they can be more specialized. Specialized programs can be designed to treat behavioral addictions, or drug and alcohol addictions that are concurrent with other psychological disorders. Specialized programs include the following:

  • Concurrent addiction and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or operational stress injuries (OSI);
  • Sex addiction or compulsive sexual behavior disorder (CSBD);
  • Gambling addiction.

Many treatment centers also have family programs that are designed for the families of individuals with addiction disorders.
